Sweetwood Smokehouse Welcomes Industry Professional Matt Schultz as VP of Sales

Matt Schultz as VP of Sales

Steamboat Springs, Colorado – As no stranger to the Colorado food scene, Matt Schultz brings years of entrepreneurial consumer-packaged goods experience to Sweetwood Smokehouse as the newly appointed Vice President of Sales. Schultz’s tenure at both Schultz’s Gourmet and 1908 Brands make him a natural fit for the Sweetwood family. In this role, he will oversee the development and implementation of Sweetwood Smokehouse’s sales strategy and business development intended to increase Sweetwood’s presence in multi-channel markets.

Matt Schultz has been grilling and seasoning meats his entire life. For as long as Schultz can remember, his family has been cooking, grilling and entertaining. His father’s famous hot sauce recipe started as a way to bring their family and friends together with BBQ’s, sports cookouts and college dorm-room snacks.

In 2005, Schultz, his two brothers and father started Schultz’s Gourmet line of cooking hot sauces and seasonings. After growing Schultz’s Gourmet into a household name with nationwide distribution, Schultz sold Schultz’s Gourmet to 1908 Brands in Boulder, CO where he served as Brand Manager and VP of Sales.

Over the years, Matt built a relationship with the Sweetwood team at numerous food shows and expos where he couldn’t deny the flavor, integrity and authenticity of Sweetwood Smokehouse products. He is excited to lead an enthusiastic and dedicated team where his passion and experience will help accelerate growth.
